LetsHost customer wins IEDR €5,000 prize
LetsHost is delighted to learn that one its customers was the second prize winner of the .IE Domain Registry’s (IEDR) recent competition to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
1StepMore – a navigation training course operator – scooped a huge €5,000 from IEDR and intend to use their winnings on website improvements and expanding the type of courses that they offer.
IEDR devised the competition to provide .ie domain holders, including businesses, individuals or community groups, with the opportunity to win a one-off cash prize to enhance their online presence. Entrants were asked to tell IEDR the main benefit of having a .ie domain name.
Paul Nolan, owner of 1StepMore, said: “Having a .ie shows where I’m based, shows I’m serious about the services I offer and am more than a just a social media presence.”
Paul continued: “Right now teaching has stopped [due to the pandemic] but there’s still web traffic, and still people getting in touch. Once we’re out of this, it’s going to be busy and that’s a testament to the power of having a .ie”
Eamon Kelly, LetsHost Commerical Director said: “We’re thrilled for 1StepMore and excited to see how their business and online presence will develop with the help of this money.”
Not only does 2020 mark 20 years in business for .IE, it’s also the year that has seen a huge spike in .ie registrations as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. During April to October 2020 there were 39% more .ie registrations than the same period last year.
