If you are unhappy with your current hosting provider,making the switch can sometimes be a daunting prospect. It is not, however, as difficult to move to another hosting company as you may think.

Step 1 – Transferring your Domain Name

The first step in this process will be to move your domain name to LetsHost.  At the time of writing, a transfer of an Irish .ie domain from any other provider costs only €10.00 + vat.  This also adds an additional year to the expiry date of your domain.

To transfer a .ie domain follow this process:

• Place an order on the www.letshost.ie website to transfer your domain.
• Once payment has been made, we will need a signed letter stating that you want to transfer your domain from your current provider to LetsHost (we will send you a template document).  The letter should be signed by the domain owner, and either faxed or scanned and emailed to us.

The transfer process takes approx. 2-4 hours during business hours.

Your domain will still point to your existing provider, and no downtime will be incurred.

Step 2 – Transferring your website and emails

To transfer your website, database and email’s, you will need a web hosting account from LetsHost.  Once you have this in place, you will receive your login details.  The website content together with any data in your databases are then uploaded, and email addresses created using our control panel.

We are on hand, of course, to help and assist with the migration process.  We can even look after the entire process for you, for a small additional fee.

Once you are happy that all content is transferred, you then change the name servers (or domain pointers) to point your domain to the LetsHost web servers.  As your domain is already under LetsHost management, this is an extremely easy process.
